This is Samsung's own version of the stock Google email app. It has few features and does not possess a unified inbox feature, useful for when you have more than one email address. Google has virtually ignored any development or improvement on this app, since android was first launched.

Google even ignored its own Gmail app, illustrated. Up until Lollipop was launched late 2014, the basic Gmail app was even worse than the stock email app above. Its biggest problem was that it could only handle Gmail addresses, forcing users to use a different app for non Gmail addresses. Faced with the limitations of both the stock email app and this earlier version of Gmail, many users turned to other third party apps for their email needs.
